Youth Theatre

Creativity & Fun for Ages 7 – 17

The Citadel Arts Youth Theatre is perfect for anyone aged 7 – 17 who has an interest in drama, or just wants to join a fun, creative group.

We present amazing shows for children and families in unusual places across St Helens and take on an exciting new project every term. our Youth Theatre is a great place to build confidence, meet new friends and learn skills in stage craft & characterisation while gaining experience in performing on stage.

In recent terms our 11 – 17 group have been involved in an exciting project to produce a film which tackles the issue of teenage alcohol consumption in St Helens, they’ve created their own contemporary twist on a Charles Dickens classic and explored the relationship between young people & social media, while our 7 – 11 group have created magical Christmas shows and taken on William Shakespeare’s epic, ‘The Tempest’.

Our workshops are open access, meaning that anyone who is interested in drama or just wants to join a fun group can attend.

Citadel Arts Youth Theatre present an honest and sometimes hilarious account of their time during the Covid-19 pandemic.

From panic buying parents to dreaded distanced learning, the group have worked with Gav Cross to use comedy as a tool to explore what life has been like for young people over the past 18 months.
