Citadel Arts Centre Receives Big Lottery Funding
The Citadel Arts Centre has been successful in securing a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities programme to continue running their successful Music Mecca Project for a further five years.
Music Mecca will continue to enable young people aged 10-18 from all wards of the borough, including those who are disadvantaged or disengaged, to participate in weekly music workshops and access dry bar events at the Citadel. The project will continue to be led by a steering group of young people.
Throughout the three years of its delivery, the programme has reached, engaged and empowered young people from across St Helens, helping them to develop creative and work-ready skills; building their confidence and self-esteem; giving them a sense of value and pride and ultimately improving their well-being and potential. This is something the Citadel are delighted to be able to deliver for the next five years.
Citadel Chief Executive Fay Lamb comments “The Citadel is delighted to be in receipt of Big Lottery Reaching Communities funding to continue to deliver the hugely successful Music Mecca programme. The project has made a massive positive impact to the lives of the young people who participate in Music Mecca activity and with the support of our partners and funders we can continue this vitally important work for the next five years.”
The project will resume on Saturday 2nd February with workshops in Singing, Street Dance, Dj-ing and Rock Band.
