What's On

Music Mecca is an exciting project for young people aged 10-18 who live in the St Helens borough.  Music Mecca provides weekly workshops in Djing, Streedance and Rock band.  If that is not enough, why not come along to our social event, Epochalypse which is an under 18’s dry bar party night were you can dance the night away hosted by top DJs.

            

Workshops
The workshops are £1 per session and take place every week at the Citadel.

Djing & Music Production
Led by DJ Rasp UKDMC Champion for 2009 and 2010, an experienced professional DJ - you will develop DJing skills using top of the range equipment and have the opportunity to show case your talents at special events throughout the year. Nick Lowe is a professional music producer with over 10 years experience, Nick will develop your production, recording and lyric writing skills, stage performance, and support you to produce and record your own music.

Streetdance
Led by Watch This Space this workshop will develop your skills in street dancing working towards regular performances both at the Citadel and within the community.

Rock Band

From September, The Citadel is offering limited slots for beginners or experienced musicians the opportunity to use our facilities on a Saturday afternoon. Whether you want to learn how to play an instrument or just spend some time in our Auditorium rehearsing then this is a MUST NOT MISS OPPORTUNITY with limited availability.

Some equipment will be provided (Guitar, drums, microphones,etc) however if you have your own instruments we advise you bring them. AND you can learn how to develop your sound and even how to promote your band. The sessions are led by Citadel sound staff. You will also get the opportunity to perform at The Citadel.

‘Rock Band’ will run on a Saturday afternoon from 1.30-3.30pm. Places are very limited so to register interest please contact us on 01744 735436 or message us ASAP. Epochalypse
The Citadel’s party night for under 18’s. Featuring the regions best DJ's. Expect to hear all the latest tunes - with a twist. The ONLY dedicated club night for under 18’s in St Helens.Regular special events are held throughout the year so watch this space for up and coming specials.
